In January 1999 the General and Respiratory ICU was established in the Baruch Padeh Medical Center, Poriya, as an independent unit.
Patients hospitalized in the ICU suffer from a variety of diseases pertaining to different medical disciplines. What is common to all patients treated in the ICU is the severity of their condition and the mortal danger they face.
Patients arriving at the Unit are patients who underwent surgery of all kinds: general surgery, maxillofacial surgery, orthopedic surgery, ENT, gynecology and urology - and who require special observation and respiratory, hemodynamic support.
In addition, the ICU takes care of patients who suffered various types of trauma, such as: automobile accidents, various injuries, falls, drowning, snakebites, and more, as well as patients suffering from respiratory failure due to various causes, or patients suffering from severe diseases who require intensive observation and care.
Despite the difficulties stemming from the daily treatment of critical patients and their families, the Unit's team provides high-quality professional medical and nursing treatment, while securing the patient and their family's dignity.
