The Institute provides for various digestive system diseases: treating and follow-up of patients with chronic illnesses, consulting clinic for outpatients and hospitalized patients In addition, the Institute operates a hepatic clinic, which treats patients with hepatic problems, carries out a full list of examinations, including liver biopsies, and suitable global-standard treatment is provided (including treatment of viral type B and C hepatitis).
The Department operates an endoscopic facility which performs digestive system tests (gastroscopy, colonoscopy).
Other treatment procedures performed at the Institute include: polyp removal, termination of hemorrhaging, tying of esophageal varicose veins, extraction of foreign bodies, insertion and replacement of gastrostomes and many others.
The Department is equipment with state-of-the-art instruments, and the Departmental staff is highly-trained and very accommodating. The Institute offers a special pediatric gastroenterological service, headed by Dr. Avi On, Head of the Pediatric Gastroenterological Department (additional information can be found in the Medical Units Page).
