The Imaging Department serves every other department in the Medical Center, and particularly the ER, the outpatient clinics, outpatients from Health Funds, the Recruitment Bureau, the Ministry of Defense, Social Security and others.
The Department contains four work stations; department observation using a "centricity viewer", which allows communication with Rambam Hospital in Haifa and Tel Hashomer Hospital.
The Baruch Padeh Medical Center, Poriya, has seen a great deal of development in recent years in accordance with changes in diagnostic techniques. The Medical Center utilizes innovative equipment and makes use of state-of-the-art imaging techniques.
Imaging Techniques Available at the Imaging Institute
X-ray room: a digital x-ray device capable of producing x-ray images of digestive systems of all kinds, of the urinary system, of the uterus, and of invasive tests and imaging.
·X-ray room: used for x-ray imaging for standing and reclining patients for trauma and regular cases.
·OR x-ray device and mobile x-rays: for hospital departments of poor mobility.
·Mammography: The mammography unit performs mammographic tests requested by breast clinics and screening tests via and under the auspices of the Israel Cancer Association, biopsies: stereotactic mammotomes and vacuum-assisted biopsies, pre-operational breast marking.
·Ultrasound: the instruments are equipped with various transducers, which enable a wide variety of tests, including Doppler tests, punctures and guided fluid removal. Ultrasounds are available at the Premature Babies Department, and at the ER for emergency tests.
·Computerized Tomography: We operate a multi-layer CT scanner, which can be used for awide variety of CT scans: brain, neck, abdominal and pelvic CTs, sinus adjuster, sella turcica temporomandibular joints, pyramids, eye sockets, including 2D and 3D reconstructions, spinal cord CT, invasive procedures and a test backup, CT-angiograph.
·The aforementioned imaging devices allow for efficient and prompt diagnosis, enhance the performance of our medical staff, and comprise an inseparable part of the superb medical services provided to our regional population.
The entire process of receiving the patient and ordering tests before they are sent for examination is computerized.
